Political Activity
1966–1970
Joined Socialist Party; became District General Secretary; led Chandigarh movement; jailed in Hisar for political activism.
1971–1980
Participated in Indian Lok Dal formation; arrested during farmer movements; joined Janata Party; delegate in party formation conference.
1981–1985
Active in Lok Dal; focused on organizational work; engaged in Chaudhary Devi Lal’s Justice Movement, training cadres in 46 constituencies.
1986–1990
Elected MLA from Jind; served as Cabinet Minister in key departments; organized backward classes; opposed corruption and caste discrimination.
1991–1995
Contested parliamentary election; became Janata Dal Haryana General Secretary; joined Congress; strengthened backward classes’ political organization.
1995–1996
Resigned from backward classes commission; joined Indira Congress; led major Jind rally; became physically disabled but continued political-social work.
